The Marriage Preparation program exists to
assist the parish priest in preparing couples for the Sacrament of
Matrimony. In addition to the Premarital Inventory and the Engaged
Encounter weekend retreat experience, the Marriage Preparation program
provides additional opportunities for discussion and activity for
couples before their marriage.
Diocesan norms require the pastor to be
contacted at least four months prior to the wedding and parish
preparation to be completed before the date of the wedding. In cases
where a resolution of a prior marriage is needed, marriage dates
cannot be set prior to speaking with the pastor or an advocate for
