TRI-PARISH SOCIAL ACTION COMMISSION
Tri-Parish
Mary Lou Amidei
743-1736
Betty Huffman
746-5545
The purpose of this ministry is to
stimulate parish awareness of human social need and to develop effective
responses. Some of the groups this ministry supports are, but not
limited to: Valcan, Interlink, St. Vincent de Paul, Pregnancy Care
Center, Snake River Community Clinic and Catholic Charities.
Some of its projects are:
A. Easter Basket Food Drive
The Easter Basket and “stuff”
Drive is done during each Lenten season to help others less
fortunate to celebrate Easter. St. Vincent de Paul distributes the
baskets to families, shut-ins and nursing homes.
B. Thanksgiving Basket Food
Drive
The Thanksgiving Basket Food
Drive is a tradition in the Valley to help supply a great dinner
with “extras” to those in need.
C. Tri-Parish Community
Dinner
The Tri-Parish Community Dinner
is a Christmas tradition in the Valley that invites all, especially
those alone, those with special needs, the elderly, the young and
the displaced, to a delicious dinner and Christmas gifts. It is as
much a blessing and gift to those who serve as it is to those who
partake.
D. Food Bank Sunday
The third Sunday of each month
is designated as Food Bank Sunday. Parishioners are asked to bring
various food and hygiene items to Mass and drop them off in the
shopping cart located in the foyer of the Church.
